States’ Year in Review Western Australia
WA had an impressive 90% clearance rate of the 757 rams offered at public auction in 2022. Numbers offered were down 34 head on 2021, however the average price paid was up $146.
WA’s top public auction price was achieved by Kintail Park ($11,600), and was a rewarding result in what was regrettably; to be their final ram sale.
Far Valley achieved the state’s top average price ($2008), and Chirniminup Dohnes once again had the largest offering.
WA has seen a decline in stud breeders in recent years; however numbers of rams offered is remaining steady.
There is a good distribution of studs in the sheep growing regions around our large state; from Coorow in the north, to Esperance in the east and down to Mount Barker in south.
All the best for the coming months.
