Australian Sheep and Wool Show Report
We are still buzzing with excitement from the recent Australian Sheep and Wool Show.
The Dohne Marquee was a sight to behold at our new site location, with eight studs from three different states showcasing their finest exhibits.
We are very grateful for the fantastic support the ADBA received over the three days, too many people to mention. All parties were presented with a thank you gift bag.
We would also like to express our gratitude to the esteemed judges who presided over the event;
Nutrien Ag Solutions Agent and ADBA Approved Classer Stephen Chalmers, Glenaroua Dohne Stud Alistair Greenshields and former Victorian ADBA President Murray Rogerson. They did a remarkable job in evaluating the exhibits.
A special mention goes out to all our guest speakers, these “Tech Talks ” were a great hit.

Aside from the show itself, the weekend was a great chance to catch up with friends, meet other Dohne breeders and immerse ourselves in all things Dohne. The camaraderie and passion within our community are truly inspiring and events like these only strengthen our bonds.
The Show Committee would also like to take the opportunity to acknowledge and thank our sponsors this year; Elders, Shearwell, Sapien Technology, Nutrien Ag Solutions, Riverina Wool Testers, Quality Wool, Australian Merino Exports, Australian Community Media, Fox & Lillie Rural, Ethical Outback Wool and the Hotel Shamrock.
It was great to have Longeranong Agricultural College students back once again participate in our education program.
Lastly, we would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all winners and place getters, including Calga for Grand Champion Ram and Supreme Dohne Exhibit and Macquarie for Grand Champion Ewe and Most Successful Breeder.
The Australian Sheep and Wool Show has become a highlight on our calendars and we can’t wait to come together once again to celebrate the remarkable Dohne breed.
Until then, stay connected, keep breeding and continue to strive for excellence.
Best regards,
Darren Gurnett Convenor, ADBA Show and Education Committee
