FLEECE ASSESSMENT IN ACTION!
Greg Hall from the Australian Dohne Breeders' Association (ADBA) runs through the fleece assessment process with teachers Melissa Hughes Condobolin High School and Chelsea Reeve Red Bend Catholic College at the 2026 Community Bank Gilgandra & Central West Bendigo Bank NSW Dohne Prime Lamb Schools Competition
The session provided valuable insights into the key characteristics of a quality Dohne Merino fleece, including wool quality, fibre diameter, staple length, strength and overall fleece presentation.
A great opportunity for teachers to gain further knowledge and understanding of fleece assessment, helping them support their students in developing practical skills and an appreciation of the wool industry.
