It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of Cameron McMaster. Cameron was known worldwide as the 'father of the Dohne'. Cameron started in the industry at the development stage of the breed and spent 30 years at the helm of South Africa’s breed managing the country’s Dohne society and helped steer it on the course to global success. The Dohne Fleece classes at the Royal Adelaide Show received entries from New South Wales and Victoria for the first time. The Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of South Australia have generously made a special section of their wool display for Dohne Fleeces. This is a very good way to show wool industry participants the quality and styles of wool that are available on the modern Dohne. Continue reading

With a new layout to the Dohne Marquee this year, the main focus was on promoting the Dohne breed under the Association banner. This was a huge success with record numbers never seen before coming through the Dohne Marquee over all three days with stages where people had to line up just to get in. Continue reading

The AGM of the ADBA has been set for Saturday, July 21 in Bendigo, to coincide with the Sheep and Wool Show. Members are invited and encouraged to attend. The Shamrock Hotel will be the venue, with the AGM roll in at 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start. A selection of finger food will be provided and bar facilities are available for those who would like refreshments. Continue reading
